    What causes a stroke?

A stroke is when blood flow to an area of the brain is cut off and the brain cells are starved of oxygen which results in the cells beginning to die. When these brain cells die, abilities controlled by that area of the brain are affected, this can be memory and muscle control.

A stroke affects each person differently depending on where and how much of the brain has been damaged. The impact can range from temporary weakness of an arm or leg to life changing affects which require support for the individual to live a well and safe life.

    24-Hour Help

When someone has suffered a stroke, day-to-day tasks can be a chore and sometimes impossible. Depending on their mobility, this can increase the struggle to take care of themselves. Within our nursing home, our experienced team can ensure your family member receives support for personal hygiene such as dressing and washing.

A nursing home for stroke residents will be beneficial if they’re unable to leave their bed or need regular medical attention. Our care will be carried out by a qualified nurse who will be available 24 hours a day.

We believe that a key part of stroke recovery is engaging in activities that promote physical activity, mental stimulation, and social connection. Our in-house team and third-party professionals provide a range of activities designed to build confidence, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being.
